About FinanceSliders

Our mission

FinanceSliders helps people explore common personal-finance questions with fast, visual calculators. We focus on clarity: move a slider, see the math update, and understand what changed. The goal is practical financial literacy—not hype, not product pitching.

What you can do here

The site includes interactive tools for compound interest, FIRE retirement planning, crypto ROI scenarios, inflation impact, mortgage payments, dollar-cost averaging, emergency fund sizing, and savings goals. Each calculator is paired with an educational guide covering how to use the tool, a worked example, and frequently asked questions.

How the product works

Calculations run locally in your browser. Your slider inputs are not uploaded to a FinanceSliders account database for processing. That private-first design keeps experimentation fast and reduces unnecessary data collection while you compare scenarios.

Who it is for

FinanceSliders is built for students, early-career savers, and anyone who wants a cleaner way to test “what if” money decisions before committing to a plan. It is also useful for comparing assumptions with a partner or advisor using exportable summaries.

Editorial standards

We explain formulas and limitations in plain language. When a model is simplified, we say so. We do not present simulations as guarantees of future returns. Pages are maintained to remain useful, readable, and transparent about risk.

Guides

Read practical explainers on our Blog, then test numbers with the calculators.
